What a year! After taking some time off during the holidays to reset, our team is starting the new year feeling refreshed and grateful to be able to work with our amazing clients! We are excited to continue our vision of contributing to a healthier, more active community by encouraging Movement as Medicine. Here are some 2024 highlights:
Clinic Growth
We welcomed a new team member, Laurence, during her adventure year in BC!
Our clinic was nominated as one of the Top 10 Best of Kelowna Physiotherapy Clinics by KelownaNow
We added a new service: Dry-needling / Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)
We secured a new, bigger space for our clinic to move into in 2025 - stay tuned for updates!
Community
We provided Medical First Aid for running and triathlon events by Bush Babes Trail Running, the Cherry Blossom Triathlon, and Wilden’s Wild One Race
We hosted 2 successful trail running clinics with amazing people, and half of our Spring Clinic participants went on to race Bush Babe’s Slay the Dragon
Our team enjoyed a weekend retreat in North Vancouver with our families, where JF, Kaz and Laurence participated in a trail race and we enjoyed the beautiful trails together
We donated plasma as Partners for Life with Canadian Blood Services - let us know if you’d like to join our team!
Commitment to Education
JF and Kaz presented educational talks on the latest sports medicine and running research to healthcare professionals at Kelowna General Hospital & runners through the Interior Running Association
JF taught continuing education courses to other healthcare professionals on running injury prevention and management across Canada (BC, Alberta, Quebec) and internationally (Italy, France)
Kaz presented webinars on the latest running science to healthcare professionals in Japan and the general public in partnership with Bill Nelems Pain and Research Centre
JF and I (Bea) taught medical and physiotherapy students in the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine as a Clinical Skills Instructor and Clinical Assistant Professor, respectively
JF organized The Running Clinic’s Expert 2.0 course which is a week long course and the highest level of running specific accreditation for healthcare professionals. Kaz and Bea achieved accreditation as The Running Clinic Experts in Running!

Personal Bucket Lists
We all achieved personal running accomplishments! Laurence ran a personal best on her marathon at Vancouver BMO, JF completed his longest trail race distance (54 miles), Kaz completed his longest trail race distance (50 miles), and I navigated postpartum recovery and ran my first (and longest) postpartum trail race (Bush Babe’s 14km Slay the Dragon)!
