Does MoveMed Physiotherapy contact my family doctor or referring specialist?
At your request and with your consent, we can share our assessment findings and treatment plan with your family doctor and/or referring specialist to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Can running assessments be billed to my extended health benefits?
Yes, our running assessments are a running-specific form of physiotherapy assessment and treatment, therefore may be billed to your extended health benefits.
What is the MSP User Fee?
If you are enrolled in MSP Supplementary Benefits, you may qualify for a lower rate of $67 for 30 minutes. Please visit this website to see if you are eligible.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept credit card, Interac e-transfer, and cash.
What if I need to cancel or miss my appointment?
As a courtesy to others, we ask that if you need to cancel or change your appointment, you do so as far in advance as possible. This allows us to offer your original appointment to another client who would like it.
You may change or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours prior to your appointment time. If you miss your appointment (no show), you will be charged our No-Show Fee of $50. Should you cancel or change your appointment less than 24 hours, you will be charged our late cancellation fee of $50. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration, but please remember that by cancelling last minute, you leave a gap in your practitioner's schedule that could have been filled by another client.
Do you accept ICBC or Worksafe BC claims?
We can treat clients who have ICBC and Worksafe BC claims, however we do not offer direct billing. You will be asked to pay for your treatment up front, and you will receive a receipt with your physiotherapist's license number after the treatment. You are welcome to then submit for reimbursement from ICBC/Worksafe. We recommend you seek approval from your adjuster prior to booking treatment, to confirm that it will be fully reimbursed. Please call us at 778-940-6495 if you would like to book an ICBC or Worksafe BC physiotherapy appointment with us.
Should I do anything before my first appointment?
Upon booking your assessment, you will be prompted to complete an online intake form. Please do so prior to your first appointment. If you have any imaging reports (x-ray, MRI, CT scan, etc), it can be helpful to bring a copy of these to your first appointment.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please plan to bring active clothes and footwear that allow you to move freely. It is helpful to be able to see the body part that is injured. For lower limb injuries, wearing shorts is recommended. For upper body injuries, wearing a tank tap is recommended. If you’re coming in for a running assessment/injury, please bring the shoes that you run in.
How many visits will I need?
This will completely depend on your condition, what you’re coming in for, and what works for you. We aim to give you as many tools as we can so that you can do a lot of your recovery plan on your own in between sessions. We will work with you to create a plan that fits with your budget and schedule.
Does your clinic have free parking?
Free parking is available to our clients in dedicated “Commercial Client” or “Visitor” Parking Stalls in the InVue Condominium building’s parking lot. If our dedicated commercial client parking spots are full, there is also free street parking on Barlee Road.
I’m interested in virtual (online) physiotherapy. Can you treat me if I live in a different province?
All of our physiotherapists are able to assess and treat you if you are a resident of BC and are located in BC during our session.
Additionally, JF is licensed to practice in Quebec. Therefore, if you are a Quebec resident, JF will be able to help you.
